| About me

Tarun doesn’t just have an eye for the Visual Mediums. He also has a heart. He heard his calling pretty early in life – while still in school, he attended a course by Mr. Kasinath in Black and White photography. Soon after, in the year 1983 he set up his own darkroom and began shooting and printing his own photographs. This was while he was still in school!

While still in the twelfth standard, he successfully held two exhibitions in the school’s art room. On passing out, he did a short stint as a photojournalist for a leading newspaper – Patriot. Simultaneously, he studied English literature at the Hindu College.

After graduating, he shifted gears and turned to to the electronic media. He worked at Newstrack, the video news magazine of the India Today Group for two years and then took over his family’s venture – a full fledged video and audio studio.

Over the years the studio has been producing soaps for India’s premier television Channel – Doordarshan, documentaries for the Ministry of External Affairs, radio content for India’s leading radio station – AIR, the Ministry of Rural Development, amongst several other projects. His studio has the distinction of regularly working on some of India’s most prestigious brands & institutions like Seher, HSIIDC, Bharat Petroleum and Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan.

The last last two years he has been irresistibly drawn back to his first love – still photography. This took him and his kit to the natural beauty of Canada. The results were for all to see in his recently held an exhibition at Alliance Francaise titled “Autumn Sonata”. A visual melody that celebrates Autumn in Canada.

Tarun is fond of Western Classical music, loves nature, wild animals and travel.
